Kimekomi Japanese Art of Fabric Tucking – The Complete Art Kit

Our hand-crafted Kimekomi art kit is a super satisfying art project that resembles a quilt and mosaic all at once. In this kit, you’ll learn the beautiful Japanese art of fabric tucking, and you’ll receive detailed instructions for learning about colors, color values of dark and light as well as how to mix and match patterns for a truly original work of art. Art skills are not required for this project.  This kit contains sharp objects and requires adult supervision and/or assistance. 

Kimekomi art kit includes:

• One inch thick, 12×12″ hand-cut foam board (size is approximate)
• Embroidery scissors
• Wood awl
• Utility craft knife
• Tracing wheel
• Chalk pencil for fabric
• Frosted pouch for tools (not shown)
• Metal hanger for foam board
• 4 hand-drawn templates (Tree of Life, Tuscan Hills, Geometric Cat and the Lighthouse on the Water) – Use one of ours or create your own design!
• An abundance of cooridinating fabric swatches in  various colors and patterns (no cartoons, religious or holiday prints).*
  Every bundle of fabric in our art kits was hand-selected by artists and approved by a professional textile designer.
• Detailed instructions for the kimekomi fabric tucking technique, as well as special guide on how to identify and use different colors, values and patterns.
